The End is Near... maybe?
Almost my whole life I have laughed off people who made the claim, "The end is near!" And rightly so. Many have claimed to know the exact date that the Lord would return and mark the end of the world as we know it. That is just ridiculous and anyone trying to research and study to find out when Jesus will return is completely wasting their time. Scripture tells us that not even the Son of Man knows the hour, only the Father. But recently I have heard more and more talk about this being the generation that will bring about a great revival, reformation, restoration and possibly even "the end."
Why all of this talk now? What is so different about this generation from any other? What evidence is there of this generation bringing about this "great revival?"
I'm currently reading "The Blueprint: A Revolutionary Plan to Plant Missional Communities on Campus" by Jaeson Ma. In his preface he said something I had never heard and it really caused me to think... He said, since Roe v. Wade legalized abortion in 1973 there have been well over 47 million abortions in the United States alone! That is the equivalent of taking the population of New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Phoenix, Philadelphia, San Antonio, Dallas, San Diego, and San Jose (the top 10 biggest cities in the country) doubling their population, and executing every person! This is a genocide that is unmatched in the history of the world. And you didn't even know it! did you? Because I had no idea the numbers where this huge!
Satan is on the attack! But why this generation? Why is Satan so worried about the people of this generation that he is willing to kill all of them before he has a chance to corrupt them?
If we look at the Bible we see only 2 examples of this degree of genocide on a generation. These occurred during the time of Moses, and Jesus. Jaeson Ma says, "Satan attacked both of those generations, attempting to kill off every baby boy in the land. Why did those generations face satanic opposition? It is because the enemy understood the destiny each [person] possessed in bringing revival according to God's timetable."
"Right now," according to Ma, "the third revival generation is taking place. Two thousand years after the birth of Jesus, another generation has been destined for a great historic revival. The enemy knows that these individuals have the power to finish history. As a result, he is using every possible means, including abortion, to attempt to kill them off."
Ma believes that just as God protected Moses and Jesus that He will protect those of us He has called. But this time God hasn't just raised up a single deliverer (i.e. Moses or Jesus). He has raised up a whole generation of deliverers!
You have been chosen by God to be a deliverer! Will you stand up to the call? Will you Go? Are you living your life like it is your own or have you died to your flesh?
The Apostle Paul says in Galatians 2:20, "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."
So now I leave you with what may be the toughest question anyone will ever ask you, because it will demand that you not only give an answer, but that you mold your entire life around that answer.
What are you living for?

Good stuff! IT is definitely something to think about and consider...but what about the holocost, the slave trade of the 1800's and other events that have killed millions of people? Is the amount of people killed by abortions that much greater than all these previous genocides? If it is, it's definitely something to think about...but I think that the more we think about when it will happen the less time we have to live out Christianity and that revival that this dude is talking about. What ARE we living for today? What makes us get up out of bed in the morning everyday. IT is important that we know what in life stirs our affections for Christ...so that we can stay away from that which doesn't and grow ever closer to our Father and the life He has for us to live.
well, yes it is a much bigger genocide. 47 million is by far the biggest, the holocaust would be a close second a 11 million. Not to diminish the tragedy that all of these were because they were awful! Also I think what Ma was trying to point out here is that its a generational attack. This has not happened since Jesus' time. Satan is attacking a whole generation across the world with abortion. Its not just the US. and the 47 million I sighted was just in the US. With China's one child law, abortion is a HUGE problem there and in the rest of the world as well.
Like i said im a pretty big skeptic on the subject of calling forth the end times as well, and im not sure what to think about Jaeson's claim, but i do think its obvious Satan is attacking this generation for a reason. And that those of us who are called by God had better step up pray like everything depends on God and live like everything depends on us.
This past semester a friend and I have studied some on end times, especially looking at scripture. If you would like, I would like to sit and talk with you about and get more insight from the book you read. It sounds interesting. Anyways, thanks for sharing. Have a Merry Christmas and God Bless! :)
Its actually only the very first part of the book that says anything about the end times. The rest of it is as the title says, "A Revolutionary Plan to Plant Missional Communities on Campus." I'm not really sure what I think about this being the generation that brings about the end times, or if thats even possible for people to "bring" it. Maybe it has nothing to do with us and everything to do with God. I just don't know
I do think that this generation will bring and is already bringing revival to the world in the name of Christ. And I believe that is part of the reason Satan has created an "underground genocide" through abortion. Maybe I should have titled my post differently haha. Still if you wanna chat im always up for some conversation, thats about #2 on my list of favorite things to do, nothing better than some good conversation over coffee. you know where ill be, come by the clubhouse sometime at night when im "working." haha looking forward to it. Merry Christmas to you too!
I like that quote a lot....Pray like everything depends on God, and live like everything depends on us. I might have to steal that and quote it.
But wow, I had no idea there was that big of a difference between the number of people killed in the holocost and the number of people killed in abortions during our generation. INSANE.
Yeah, sure I can come by during your shift in the office...I am leaving today to go home for the Holiday's and will be back on Jan. 2nd...when do you work the desk?
alise: go for it! spread the word haha!
laura: actually i dont know my schedule for next semester yet and i wont be back til the 6th. but ill let you know
I think this is definitely something really important to think about. Even if 2000 our generation isn't destined to do something as earth-shattering as Moses or Jesus, we as Christians need to live with the mindset that we are. We need to believe and understand that we serve a God who does incredible and mind-blowing things when we allow him, and we also need to realize that we fight an enemy who will stop at nothing to stop us. We NEED to live as if we are a generation that people in the future will look back to as revolutionary.
wowserS!!!!! That is absolutely insane to think that Satan is in a sense targeting our generation!
Eerie and compelling it seems-" ...another generation has been destined for a great historical revival. The enemy KNOWS that these individuals have the power to finish history."
So are we living a life with an urgency for deliverance?
I don't think so-
How could we tangibly live this out?
Every once in a blue moon I think, "Sara, think about your friend ********... where is she going to spend eternity?" I hate how much we live in the here and now and don't think in a long term perspective! Do any of us realize that by planting seeds we can make an ETERNAL difference?
and if we do, then why don't we live in a way that responds to such riveting convictions????????
ya thats what im talking about. Satan is attacking us so hard and I feel like all too often we only play defense! We've gotta play both sides of the ball! Its time for the Kingdom of Light to make some offensive moves. Like I said before, we've gotta pray like it all depends on God and live like it all depends on us. For too long we have sat back and just tried to figure out ways to "guard ourselves" from Satan (playing defense). Well im tired of settling for defensive Christianity. Its time to put Satan on his heals and back the Kingdom of darkness up against its endzone! Can I get an amen from anybody!? haha
